Left back and centre-forward are two areas to be strengthened: the Betis full-back could be closed as early as January, the Lille striker is the strong name for the summer
It’s paradoxical, but the richest summer market – in terms of spending and number of purchases – from the Chinese AC Milan onwards, was still not enough to complete the squad in all the coordinates where there was probably a need to get involved. We are talking from the perspective of “pairs of players”, i.e. the two options provided to the coach for each eleventh of the pitch. AND – It goes without saying -, for a team whose objectives are the scudetto and to remain permanently in the VIP club of the Champions League, having alternatives not far from the front lines in terms of quality is a vital matter. Let’s be clear, last summer’s transfer market was – as this first part of the season shows – more than good. But there is still some deficit, and now that January is approaching, and ultimately June is not that far away, we already need to start evaluating how to compensate for it.
