Herlings wins second round in Italy, but misses stage victory

Jeffrey Herlings closed the Trentino GP with a victory in the second moto. The motocross rider from Oploo finished ninth earlier in the day in the first round on the circuit in Pietramurata, Italy.

The victory in the second moto was not enough for the day victory. That went to the Spaniard Jorge Prado, winner of the first moto and third in the second. Prado remains in the lead in the World Cup standings with 201 points. Herlings is in third place (175 points).

Herlings was forced to chase after an early crash in the first moto and finished the race in ninth. In the second moto the KTM driver also had to make up places to take the lead. On the eleventh lap he passed Renaux and Prado and took the lead. He couldn’t stand it anymore.

Other Brabanders
Glenn Coldenhoff from Oss finished sixth in the Trentino GP. He was eighth in the first moto and sixth in the second. Calvin Vlaanderen finished ninth after a sixth and twelfth place. Eindhoven resident Brian Bogers only took 12 points in the second moto and finished fifteenth.
