According to Mobilepay, the construction of the new application started when Mobilepay and Norwegian Vipps merged at the end of 2022. The company says in its press release that the release of the application has been long awaited.
– At the end of 2022, we received permission for the merger from the EU Commission, and at the same time, the hard work of assembling the services on a common platform began, Vipps Mobilepay country manager Perttu Kröger says in the press release.
The return of Weshare
The new application works in the same way as the old one, but the appearance has been updated.

In the new Mobilepay application, we appear under our full name. According to Mobilepay, using a nickname, nickname or invented name is no longer possible.
