During the Remembrance Day in Haarlemmermeer we commemorate all victims who have fallen since the Second World War. 19-year-old Sander Blankestein will lay a wreath in Badhoevedorp this year: “My generation does not really know what happened in the Second World War.”
New Vennep, Hoofddorp and Halfweg
At the Zuiderdreef in Nieuw-Vennep, a wreath will be laid at the Zuiderdreef at 7.30 pm. Alderman Marjolein Steffens – van de Water will hold a memorial speech there.
There is also room in Hoofddorp for collective commemoration. At the roundabout at the intersection of the Nieuweweg and the burg. Van der Willigenlaan will speak to mayor Marianne Schuurmans at 7.20 pm.
Alderman Marïette Sedee will give a speech at the Double Neighborhood roundabout along the N200 in Halfweg at 7 p.m.
At 20.00 there is room for the 2 minutes of silence in all places.

Weteringbrug and Vijfhuizen
A wreath is also laid in Weteringbrug for the war victims. Council member Jennifer Hup of the municipality of Haarlemmermeer will lay the wreath at 7:30 p.m. on the corner of Leimuiderdijk and Lisserweg. After which it is silent for two minutes at 8 p.m.
Councilor Beryl van Straten-van Diepenbeek will read a memorial speech in Vijfhuizen on the corner of Zijdewind and Rowlandstraat at 7:45 pm.

A wreath will be laid by council member Sander Blankstein at 7:35 p.m. on Snipstraat in Badhoevedorp. The 19-year-old councilor of the VVD Haarlemmermeer thinks it is an important task “My generation does not really know what happened in the Second World War,” he tells NH. “That worries me. Zwanenburg
Those who want to commemorate in Zwanenburg can go to the wreath-laying ceremony in the village. At Dennenlaan/Wilgenlaan, the wreath will be laid at 7:50 PM by council member Mark Achterbergh-Copier. There will be a two-minute silence at 8:00 PM.
