Here is the new host of the Castle party

Ella Kanninen has narrated Linna’s celebrations for several years. This year things are different.

The Linna party, hosted by the President of the Republic of Finland Sauli Niinistö and Dr. Jenni Haukio, will be held on Independence Day.

The traditional celebrations can be seen on TV on the Yle channels. However, there will be exceptions to the TV broadcasts of the castle celebrations this year.

For the past five years, Ella Kanninen has been the narrator and host of Linna’s celebrations. This year, Milla Madeto will be seen for the first time at Kanninen’s farm.

Kanninen has been prevented from reporting “due to other commitments”.

– This has been a unique honor for five years. I remember the exciting first time in 2018 as well as the special broadcasts during the corona years. I have been able to work in a wonderful group, because putting together a big shipment is above all teamwork, says Kanninen in the press release.

The other narrators of the castle celebrations are Jussi-Pekka Rantanen, Sami Sykkö and Ari Hakahuhta. The broadcast is narrated in Swedish Anki Karhu, Jonas Blomqvist and Silja Sahlgren-Fodstad.

Madetoja has previously worked as Yle’s reporter at Linna’s party. He says in Yle’s press release that reporting is an honor for him.

– This work is a great honor, and I have followed with admiration the professional work of previous narrators Ella Kanninen and Piia Pasanen. The Independence Day reception is an important and meaningful occasion for Finns, and I am happy but humble about the many hours of live broadcasting, Madetoja describes in the press release.

– The task is without a doubt challenging, but fortunately, the narrator hero JP and Ari Hakahuhta and Sami Sykkö are by my side. I believe that we will make a successful broadcast, he continues.

In addition to the castle’s celebrations, there will be a picnic, a continuation and radio broadcasts.
