Finland’s Miss Lucia for 2023 is from Helsinki Madeleine Amoroso. Lucia-neito is chosen annually by public vote.
Amoroso tells On Folkhälsan’s website, that he is excited about the day ahead. Amoroso says that he received special support from his family and loved ones.

For Amoroso, the day is especially meaningful because his grandparents are from Sicily, the same island as Lucia.
– I have always known that Lucia is from there, so thanks to this connection, I really felt that I wanted to participate in the Lucia election. My grandparents will surely be very happy with the news that I have been chosen as Finland’s Lucia, my grandmother will probably get a hepuli! Amoroso says in the press release.

Around Lucia’s Day, there is a charity collection to help people in need. The collection ends in January. In 2022, the collection received 182,900 euros.
