The costumes of the party guests at the Independence Day reception are delightful.
The costume splendor of the castle’s celebrations did not leave anyone cold: sparkle and eye candy were on offer when party guests arrived at the Independence Day reception on December 6, 2022. Jewel colors, glitter and asymmetric, sculptural details dominated the party outfits of the guests.
We listed the most successful costumes of the evening:
Ballet dancer Atte Kilpinen’s shock pink tailcoat is definitely the most arresting outfit choice of the party guests of the evening. It was designed by fashion designer Teemu Muurimäki and suited the dancer perfectly. Street-credible leather boots completed the ensemble. Mikko Huisko
Prime Minister Sanna Marini’s beautiful white evening dress was definitely one of the most successful of the evening. The satin suit is the handiwork of designer Sari Hörkö. The silver jewelry for the beautiful outfit was from the domestic jewelry brands Kalevala Koruje and Lumoava. She represented at the party together with her husband Markus Räikkönen. Vesa Moilanen
Radiant metallic shades and especially festive gold were seen on several guests at the Linna’s party. Blues guitarist Erja Lyytinen’s golden, deep-grooved sequined evening dress with a cape was absolutely stunning. The suit was purchased from the Helsinki boutique White Elephant. Mikko Huisko
Singer Paula Koivuniemi’s elegant, long-sleeved silk evening dress was designed by Katri Niskanen. The subtle split was a complementary detail of the stylish piquant outfit. Mikko Huisko
Singer Paula Vesala’s dark evening dress was an elegant choice. The floor-length sleeves and the open cut of the back brought interesting details to the skin-hugging dress and therefore special interest. Vesala’s understated bun hairdo and understated smokey eye makeup worked with this Katri Niskanen suit, because this way the attention was focused on the evening dress itself. Mikko Huisko
MP Riikka Purra’s (ps) beautiful evening dress is from the Italian fashion house Valentino’s collection. The two-piece cut of the suit looks timeless and dignified at the same time. Mikko Huisko
Tim Sparv’s wife Jitka Nováčková’s strapless, two-tone evening dress was understatedly elegant at the front, but the juju of the dress can be found at the back: a spectacular bow. The charming dress brings to mind Audrey Hepburn and old-time Hollywood glamour. Mikko Huisko
MP Mari Holopainen (green) chose a spectacular ball-shaped suit by Vuokko Nurmesniemen. The original hem of the Myllynkivi dress was short, but a longer version was made for Linna’s party. Both necklaces and earrings are from the Finnish jewelry brand Aida Impact. The outfit is completed by a cool round handbag that repeats the ball pattern of the suit. Mikko Huisko
Film director Alli Haapasalo shone in a red evening dress designed by Anna Vilppunen. The sculptural dress beautifully emphasizes the cleavage and shoulder line, as well as the expectant mother’s stomach. Mikko Huisko
MP Sofia Vikman’s (kok) deeply grooved v-neckline and cloak-like hood are the juju of this outfit. The beautiful red evening dress was designed by Anne-Mari Pahkala. The all-red outfit is completed by red laurel boots and an evening bag, as well as striking earrings. Mikko Huisko
Minister of Education Li Andersson (left) chose a person from Turku for the party Miia Halmesmaan designed a dark, polo-necked sequined dress with short sleeves. Andersson’s dress is made in Finland from ecological material, the minister mentions in an Instagram post. If the image is not visible, you can view it from here.
