Here are the best games in Finland for 2022 – Two main prizes for the surprise winner

The 10th celebration of the Finnish gaming industry was celebrated in a fun atmosphere. The main awards of the gala were recognitions for game of the year, mobile game and PC and console game.

The achievements of the Finnish game industry were celebrated in a wonderful atmosphere at the Finnish Game Awards gala. The event was organized for the tenth time. A total of 11 different Finnish game production companies were nominated. Prizes and recognitions were awarded in several different categories.

The biggest winner of the evening was the surprising Tree Men Games with their game Escape the Highway. The game was awarded as the best mobile game of the year and the Finnish game of the year, which was the main prize of the gala.

Tree Men Games is a 10-year-old indie studio of three developers that originated at Aalto University. In the game, you drive a car in an urban environment and try to survive sharp passes.

The title of the best console game of the year went to 10tons game studio from Tampere Undead Horde 2: Neropolis. The game, which combines strategy and role-playing game mechanics, aims to build the city of the undead from the slush to a new glory.

An adventure game from the Redstage Entertainment studio Skábma – Snowfall was awarded as creative act of the year. The much-talked about game is inspired by the Sámi culture, and the game is made respecting the traditions of the indigenous people. Skábma tells the story of the young reindeer herder Áilu’s journey to becoming a seer and healer.

Other awardees were newcomer of the year One Trick Entertainment game studio, founder of Critical Force game studio Veli-Pekka Piirainen as player of the year as well Ren Soharab year as a volunteer.

In addition, the Finnish Game Jam Champion was awarded Olli Juhola. Finnish Game Jam is an event where the aim is to develop a new game during the weekend.

The event was organized by Finnish game developers and the umbrella organization of the Finnish gaming industry, Neogames.
