Here are the best barbecue kiosks in Finland

At the beginning of the week, we asked where in Finland you can get the best barbecue food in the country. There was an absolutely huge number of answers and it seems that every barbecue grill in our country has been proposed at least once.

If you were to travel in search of good snägär food, you could probably travel all the way from Utsjoki via Vaasa and Tammisaari, past Imatra to Iisalme. And everywhere in between.

Although the votes were distributed among many actors, the top five clearly stood out from the rest.

1st place: Cafe Grillius, Äänekoski

Cafe Grillius, operating in Hirvaskanka, Äänekoski, collected clearly the most votes. The location along the square was considered by many to be extremely clever and they have driven even further in search of delicious dishes.

The food was praised for its unique style, and the grill also received Plussas for its versatile selection: in addition to grilled food, the place also offers a variety of sweet pastries.

At least it’s not easy to drive by Grillius by accident either, because a huge hamburger has been erected on the roof of the building as a landmark.

– Definitely the number one favorite of the moment when it comes to sausage fries! The journey there is only 300 km in one direction, so you don’t have to deviate very often, writes the nickname Hansu.

– Absolutely top-notch, Double ähky when you use it to eat, it’s a thumbs up, the nickname Peksi writes.

– The hamburgers, french fries, grill dishes and meat pies were all excellent. No complaints. For meat pies, I recommend extra meat. A football-sized set that won’t leave you cold. There are also sweet, good coffee pastries on offer, the name brand RaivoRami writes.

2nd place: Vaiveronkatu kiosk, Hyvinkää

The Vaiveronkatu kiosk in Hyvinkää also garnered a huge number of laudatory comments. As much as the food was praised, the brothers running the stall also got their share.

– Simply the best bursa and sets in Finland with fresh versatile salads and above all thanks to the brothers’ enormous hearts and loving touches! Every single customer is taken personally and their wishes are listened to, writes the moniker Häre.

You should start queuing at the kiosk well in advance, because it’s apparently quite popular. In addition to the hamburgers that massage the taste buds, the kiosk is known for its soft drinks, the taste of which changes at regular intervals.

– Food allergies and diets are also well taken into account. I’m crazy about the keto burger you can get here, and of course with chili sauce, writes the namesake Mertsi.

– Vaiveronkatu kiosk, or Jaanis in the vernacular in Hyvinkää. It’s enough to go and eat the boys’ hamburgers once, and you won’t have to go anywhere else. The owners of Jaanis, or “sons” Sebastian and Mikael, are known in the city for various adventures, and the atmosphere at the kiosk is like going home, writes the brand name Feta-Chips.

3rd place: Martinsilla grilli, Turku

– Martinsilla’s grill is the best you can find in Turku. Sausage and potatoes are the way to heaven, rhymes the moniker Tombraider.

The queue tells you that, says the Marinsilla grill in Turku. The grill, located on the other side of the river, collects incense not only from sausage and fries, but also from good service and the world’s best garlic hodar.

– The price-quality ratio is really good, because for less than 10 euros you can easily eat until your stomach is pink. You often have to wait in line at the kiosk, but that’s a sign of popularity, the name brand Viiken93 writes.

– The place has been operating in Turku for decades, and according to tradition, eating at MSG is part of becoming a Turku citizen. MSG’s Hungry man is such a hamburger that I have never eaten as good anywhere. 4th place: Keskusgrilli, Ranua

The entrepreneur of Ranua Keskusgrill was incensed in the vote. According to the respondents, everything in the dishes of “Grilli-Make” is just right.

Among the best dishes were a kebab roll with garlic sauce, a smoked reindeer burger and a bbq meal, which, according to the respondent, is the best thing to do while wearing pants.

– The top staff and good food make it the best. Every time I go to Ranua, I have to get food from the grill. According to respondents, Tuen Grilli in Lappeenranta has been a legend for years. Both the burgers and the side dishes were popular, but many also mentioned the grill’s vegetarian options and the rolls from the local bakery.

– Excellent hamburgers and meat pies that people come to pick up from several tens of kilometers away, writes the brand name Juhoz.

– You can look for something better, but you save yourself the trouble when you come to try it out, states the namesake KarjalanKovin.

Other barbecue kiosks that have garnered a lot of votes

There would seem to be plenty of high-quality barbecue kiosks all over Finland, as many managed to collect the votes of a respectable pot. Listed here are ten grills that still took the top spots.

Grilli-Pori, Pori

Nippanappa was left out of the top five by Grilli-Pori. In the answers, it was said that the more familiar “GP” delicacies should be eaten further away, because the taste of the products is “from another world”.

Among the dishes, sausage potatoes, high-quality whole meat steaks in hamburgers and GP’s own mayonnaise were highlighted, among other things.

Mantu grill, Turku

In addition to Martinsilla’s grill, the legendary Mantu grill, which is located at the foot of Kaskenmäki on the banks of Aurajoki, was voted for by the crowd. Mantu’s sausage potatoes were praised a lot, and the garlic mayonnaise made by Kiska is also said to be so tasty that it could be used in any food – for example, breakfast porridge.

– Hasn’t changed for years, homemade mayonnaise, the best hamburgers and hot dogs, and I’ve been going since I was little, at first with my father and now alone. I remember when I was little I already mentioned Mantus in the best barbecue section of the Föriveisti for school children, and nothing has changed even though I’ve gotten older and it’s already been 17 years since elementary school, the nickname Kaltsu writes.

Best Hamburgers, Ähtäri

The Best Hamburgers kiosk was praised as the pride of the entire community, where you should always stop to eat when you get the chance.

Among the best dishes, Bestis’ special, chicken fillet meal, processed cheese hamburger and giant double were listed among others.

– For years, I have always had the “Burgeri”, which comes with French fries and, depending on the choice, 2 or 3 ground beef patties and a salad. Every time you drive by Ähtäri, you have to go, because nowhere have you come across another portion where all the parts are equally tasty and have the right structure, writes the brand with burgerikolm.

Jykän Grilli, Alajärvi

Jykän Grille can be found in both Alajärvi and Seinäjoki, and both received fairly even votes. Based on the answers, you can get the best burgers in Finland from the grill, which are guaranteed not to leave you hungry.

– The rolls come from a local bakery and there are options for everyone in the fillings. They also know how to fry French fries properly so that they stay crispy all the way home if you happen to take a portion with you, the name brand TzA writes.

Among the dishes, the Hevosmieen dish, Äijäburger, sausage and potatoes with melted cheese and Tex Willer roll were highlighted, among others.

Kaijo plaster, Oulu

Kaijo kipsa, located in Oulu, was especially praised for its great service and nice staff. In addition to traditional grilled delicacies, you can also get Bosnian grilled food from the grill, for example the Sarajevo Special dish is recommended to be tested.

– Large, very high-quality portions, both normal grilled dishes and Bosnian specialties. Not forgetting top-class customer service. The only minus is the reasonably small interior, writes Jymbylä.

Lehtimäki grill, Porvoo

Lehtimäki Grilli in Porvoo also gathered a lot of votes.

Among the dishes, sausage potatoes, aura cheeseburger and mincemeat potatoes were highlighted, among others. The grill’s homemade mayonnaise was also highly praised.

– The best grilled food I’ve ever eaten and good service! Also always something new. Yum, the nickname Minttu writes.

Grilli Kivelä, Raisio

Grilli Kivelä, which operates in Raisio, was praised, among other things, for its good price-quality ratio and always friendly service.

French fries made from folded potatoes are apparently “the thing” at this restaurant.

– Definitely the best grilled food, especially sausage and potatoes for my taste. All the mayonnaise in the dishes is made on the grill, as well as the mustard itself, for lovers of garlic mayonnaise, the mayonnaise really TASTES like garlic. In addition to everything, an extremely nice entrepreneurial couple, doing business at the grill always leaves a positive feeling, writes the nickname Lotta.

Meeri’s grill, Tornio

Meeri’s grill in Tornio is praised as a legend, where price and quality meet best and apparently because “you can never have too much cheese”.

– Meeri’s grill in Tornio is a legend. An overwhelming amount of cheese and a delicious sauce create a unique flavor combination. In addition, Meeri herself was a very captivating person, you always felt very welcome at the grill. Fortunately, after Meeri’s passing, the level has remained the same, except that the door no longer reads invitingly “Open almost always”, the nickname Timo writes.

Among the dishes, the double cheeseburger is especially highlighted, which is apparently more familiarly called tappojusze precisely because cheese is by no means spared.

Grilli coffee shop Tikander, Joutsa

Tikander’s kiosk in Joutsa, called “Tiksu” among friends, gathered votes for its large and tasty portions. In addition to the savory one, they say there are donuts that melt in your mouth.

– Everything from mayonnaise is prepared with this grill. Mayonnaises are extremely good and popular. You certainly won’t get vegan barbecue food from many grills, but this grill offers something for all gourmets, writes Joutsa.

A salami baguette was also highlighted among the grill’s dishes.

Nana’s grill, Espoo

According to the respondents, Nanan Grilli, which operates in Kivenlahti, Espoo, offers something for everyone. Nana, who runs the grill, also remembers each customer’s standard order and their spices even from years ago.

– The residents appreciate it so much that they came after the Christmas break to clear the yard of snow, before the owner returned from abroad to open his grill, the name says.
