Played in Ilves last season Henrik Haapala29, has signed a month-long trial contract with Genève Servette, says Blick magazine.
Last season, the winger played in 47 regular season games in Ilves, where the results were 15+32=47. In the playoffs, the pace froze drastically, when the balance of 11 matches was 2+1=3.
Servette is the reigning champion of the Swiss league. In addition to Haapala, four other Finns play in its ranks: a defender Sami Vatanen and attackers Valtteri Filppula, Sakari Manninen and Teemu Hartikainen.
Servette’s season has started a bit shaky, as it has won only one of its three games. Nippu is eighth in the series of 14 teams.
During his Ilves career, Haapala has also played for Jokers, Tappara and Lugano. In addition, the skilful winger in the NHL has played five matches for the Florida Panthers and 20 games for the AHL club Springfield Thunderbirds.
