Henny Huisman thinks Jamai Loman falls short as a presenter

Henny Huisman is not surprised that the viewing figures of Lego Masters have collapsed under the leadership of Jamai Loman. “He’s a nice guy, but presenting such a show is something else.”

It is a major setback for RTL 4 that the former viewing figure hit Lego Masters has scored so poorly this season. The most important change to the program is that the presentation has been taken over by Jamai Loman. Previously, the show was put together by his older colleague Martijn Krabbé.

fall short

According to Henny Huisman, RTL 4 made a mistake by putting Jamai down as a presenter. “With a good format, some people think that anyone could present it, but then you underestimate it enormously. A format is the most important thing, but the person who does it can make or break it.”

He continues in the Weekend: “Take Lego Masters, for example. It was a great success with Ruben Nicolai, but not with Jamai Loman. That’s a nice guy and a good singer, but presenting Lego Masters is of course something else.”

‘Reuben is better’

Ruben is simply much better at that, says Henny. “He has a lot of humor and self-mockery. He also does The Masked Singer well, with those stabbings under water towards the jury. Jamai, who really tries to do the program as well as possible, is very different from Ruben in this respect. Then you see that he is counted on that.”

In this context, Henny also refers to the Korenslag program that he used to present. That program was taken over by Marc Dik after a few successful seasons. “When they put an EO figure as a presenter there, the sjeu was a bit off.”
