Henny Huisman is quite shocked that RTL Boulevard interviewed people at Cilly Dartell’s funeral. “Terrible,” he says. “I once had that with Rudi Carrell.”
Cilly Dartell died far too young: she was only 66 years old. The funeral was last week in Amsterdam and there were not only many celebrities present, but also media. RTL Boulevard had even sent star reporter Aran Bade to get reactions from former colleagues of Hart van Nederland immediately after the ceremony.
Mixed feelings
Marcel van Roosmalen thinks it is remarkable. “Cilly Dartell from Hart van Nederland has passed away and her funeral was partly shown on RTL Boulevard. It was actually the first time that I saw interviews with people who were at the funeral immediately after a funeral,” he says in his talk show Van Roosmalen & Groenteman.
It worries him mixed feelings. “I just don’t know what I think about that, that you interview people immediately afterwards. Would you like it that way, Henny?”
Horrible
Henny makes no secret of it: he finds this horrible. “Horrible. I once attended Rudi Carrell’s funeral and they asked questions in advance. Then I had to offer my condolences and they started asking me what I thought of him. I thought that was terrible.”
Presenter Gijs Groenteman: “And in ten years it will be your funeral, Henny. Can RTL Boulevard come by or do you say: ‘No, no, we’ll keep this private.’”
‘Do not know yet’
Oh, when it comes to Cilly he thinks it’s ‘terrible’, but his own funeral? Henny might want to have some camera crews there. “I don’t know yet,” he says honestly.
Gijs: “Are you going to think about that calmly over the next ten years?”
Henny: “Yes, that’s why. To say: ‘That is allowed, that is not allowed.’ I would appreciate it if you came.”
Gijs: “Ah, nice.”
Dissatisfied
In retrospect, Henny is not at all happy with this broadcast of Van Roosmalen & Groenteman. His former sidekick Bulletje (a bull played by puppeteer Aad Peters) was also present and was quite prominent.
The presenter writes down X: “Last night was a bad broadcast, there was no atmosphere and Bulletje was out of place. Production had arranged it themselves, but it was a Van Roosmalen & Groenteman event to quickly forget!”
