Henk de Haan from Appingedam is raffling off a motorbike for Food Banks Groningen for the third time

The yellow Honda of Henk ‘Broezen’ de Haan from Appingedam will be raffled for the third time this autumn. And just like the previous times, the proceeds will benefit the nine food banks in the province of Groningen.

Former football player Henk de Haan, now the owner of an events agency, came up with the raffle when he bought a new motorcycle. “I could trade in the Honda, but I would get 300 or 400 euros for it. That is nothing. I was already an ambassador for the Food Bank and then I came up with the raffle,” he told DVHN in 2022.

That raffle was in 2019. The lucky winner, the then 84-year-old Mrs. Veldman from North Holland, immediately gave the motorcycle back for a second round. The second raffle took place in 2020. And once again the winner, Rieks Spandauw from Siddeburen, immediately made the motorcycle available for a subsequent raffle.

Can be seen at VV Siddeburen

The motorcycle, brought into top condition by Nooderpoort teacher Jan Meijer from Onstwedde, will be at the VV Siddeburen complex on Kugellaan in Siddeburen on Sunday, October 29 from 1 p.m. Henk de Haan and former Food Bank Groningen chairman of sales will be present to sell raffle tickets.

All proceeds from the raffle will go to the nine food banks in Groningen. After the two previous raffles, the counter stands at 15,000 euros.
