It drips and drips and drips. In the hallway of Aleksandra Brodnicka (70) in Wilmersdorf, water has been running from the ceiling for three weeks. “We’ve already caught 250 liters,” says Brodnicka.
Four buckets are permanently on the blue floor on the fourth floor and need to be emptied regularly. “I do it all with my daughter,” says the pensioner. They carry bucket after bucket down into the yard. There they collect the water in containers.
The house on Schlangenbader Strasse belongs to the state-owned housing company Degewo.
The water appears to be coming from a leak in the ceiling. When asked by BZ, a Degewo spokeswoman explained: “The cause is a defective kitchen drain pipe.” And: The damage was recorded on September 21, and a plumbing company was commissioned to repair it on the same day.
But nothing has happened to this day! The residents are left alone with the damage.
The spokeswoman: Employees at the commissioned company had become ill, which is why the work had been delayed.
New date for the repair work: October 17th. Brodnicka is skeptical that it will work this time…
