For the 45-member pop choir ZIP from Landhorst, 2022 threatened to end in minor. In a burglary in mid-December, the choir was robbed of all equipment. But thanks to many donations, the group received 7,290 euros to buy new things. “Fantastic!”
“How a drama turned into pure happiness!” This is how Helmie van Creij of the pop choir expresses the joy that has arisen from the many donations. “The members are completely confused, so much support has made this holiday season extra warm.”
The money poured in in small and large amounts thanks to a crowdfunding campaign that was set up at lightning speed. During the New Year’s Eve meeting in Landhorst, conductor Victorine Egelmeers announced that 5,440 euros had been collected. “As icing on the cake, ZIP received a check for 1,850 euros from Fanfare and Percussion Group Landhorst.” So in total good for more than seven thousand bucks, which the pop choir can handle.
“The year couldn’t have ended better!”
That help was desperately needed after the burglary in De Stek village hall. Loudspeakers, all cables, a mixing console and the cart with all the monitors: everything was gone. And that while the choir had bought two very good boxes just this year. “There was nothing left at all,” Van Creij previously told Omroep Brabant.
But thanks to the many donations, she still has a good feeling about 2022. According to Van Creij, the jubilee concert on 1 July is therefore not only about ZIP’s 10th anniversary. Also thanks to everyone for all the support. “The year couldn’t have ended better!”
