Helmond Sport surprisingly won against Roda JC in the Kitchen Champion Division. The team of interim coach Tim Bakens trumped the Limburgers with 0-1. Goalkeeper Mike Havekotte was the best man of the Helmond team.
Roda JC started the game energetically against the number 19 of the Kitchen Champion Division. In the seventh minute Arjen van der Heide got a dot of a chance, but was unable to convert it.
Halfway through the first half, Helmond goalkeeper MIke Havekotte had to come into action for the first time. With a cat-like reflex he tapped Van der Pavert’s bet over the goal.
Ten minutes after the break Helmond Sport took the lead. Elmo Lieftink put the ball ready for Martijn Kaars with his head. He scored the only goal of the game, 0-1. For Kaars it was already his seventh goal of the season.
Roda JC then went on the hunt for the equalizer. Havekotte prevented the home team from leveling with a fantastic save. The goalkeeper received the help of Lieftink on the line, who held the rebound in front of the line. In the final phase, Flor van den Eynden also took a ball off the line for Helmond Sport. Roda JC insisted but failed to come alongside.
