It was a mediocre evening for the Brabant clubs in the Kitchen Champion Division. Helmond Sport suffered a painful defeat at home against Jong AZ, while TOP Oss suffered a defeat at Almere City after a good start last week. At FC Eindhoven, Willem II finally got the lid on the nose.
Helmond Sport – Young AZ 1-3
Things went wrong for the home team early on Friday evening in the GS Staalwerken Stadium. In the eighth minute it was Soulyman Allouch who opened the score for the visitors. Helmond then urged to put things in order. With success: because after half an hour of play, acquisition Martijn Kaars equalized.
After the break, the same Candle almost scored a world goal, but his bicycle kick was tapped over the bar by keeper Westerveld. Moments later, it was the Alkmaarders who struck in the switch. Reverson gave his team the lead again, after which Lathouwers determined the final score in the last minute of the official playing time.

Almere City – TOP Oss 3-0
Where TOP Oss started the competition promisingly last week with a 3-0 victory over Jong FC Utrecht, Kristof Aelbrecht’s team was once again put on the ground in the second round. On a visit to Almere City, the Ossenaren did not seem to be able to. Within twenty minutes the home team took the lead thanks to Mattoir.
Things didn’t get any better for the visitors after the break. Akujobi doubled the score, after which Pascu scored the third goal shortly before time.
FC Eindhoven – Willem II 2-1
After last season’s painful relegation, Willem II has also started the new season dramatically. Last week the Tilburg team did not get further than a draw against Jong PSV at home, on Friday evening the team even lost a visit to FC Eindhoven. The home team needed a goal in the fifth minute of stoppage time.
For a long time it looked like the teams would share the points. The Eindhoven team took the lead halfway through the first half via Rottier, after which Crowley equalized fifteen minutes before the end. Still, things went wrong for Willem II in the very last minute, leaving Kevin Hofland’s team on one meager point after two games.
