It was an eventful evening in the Kitchen Champion Division on Friday, especially for the teams from Brabant. FC Eindhoven won against leader PEC Zwolle, which therefore failed to promote on Friday evening, while Helmond Sport’s home match against MVV was temporarily halted because away supporters threw fireworks onto the field.
According to the new rules of the KNVB, which have been in force since Friday, the match must be stopped immediately after throwing objects on the field. So that happened. Helmond Sport lost the game 1-2. In addition, it had to collect a red card.
FC Eindhoven won with striking figures against leader PEC Zwolle. It became no less than 4-2 at the Aalsterweg. The people of Eindhoven are now sixth in the standings. PEC could have promoted in Eindhoven, but the champagne can go back in the fridge for a while.
Other teams
NAC won the Brabant get-together with FC Den Bosch. In Breda, the team scored twice from a total of eight shots on target. FC Den Bosch got no further than a single shot on target. It became 2-0. Jong PSV lost 0-1 against FC Dordrecht.
