HelloFresh – stock right before the next crash?

By mid-August, investors had regained hope for the food supplier’s shares. The stock tried to break out of the multi-month downtrend after the final numbers. However, as it turned out, investors tend to use this event as an opportunity to sell. Just a few weeks later, stocks mark new interim lows. Should worse be expected now?

The impending DAX relegation in particular is currently causing problems for investors. In addition, the forecast reduction in July is still having an effect. For a long time, shareholders could look forward to steadily improving prospects, but this came as a profound shock. There is also the problem of margins: instead of a constant profit margin, HelloFresh continues to come under pressure. In addition, business with meal kits is also likely to be sluggish in the coming months, as consumers are likely to shift their consumption preferences due to high energy and gas prices. On the other hand, HelloFresh currently has an extremely cheap fundamental valuation, especially with a price-to-sales ratio of 0.6. Here the great pessimism comes clearly to the fore.

Overall, the prospects for HelloFresh are currently gloomy. Due to the market environment, the declining growth rates and the general slack in consumption, including the threat of DAX relegation, market participants are staying away. In the long term, however, some bargain hunters should already be keeping an eye on the papers.

Chart: HelloFresh

Resistance levels: 24.57 + 26.70 + 27.02 + 32.94 + 34.44 + 35.71 + 36.55 + 36.95 EUR

Support tokens: 23.04 +19.68 + 16.14 EUR

Due to the losses in this trading week, the share runs to the lower edge of the downward channel. There are now temporary chances of recovery, but also the possibility of a trend acceleration if this breaks. If the latter case occurs and the daily closing price falls below EUR 23, a sell signal with the downward target of EUR 19.68 is triggered. If you want to speculate on this scenario, the Turbo Bear warrants with the WKN are suitable for this HB9J75 or HB8W4X. However, if there is a recovery, there will be new short entry opportunities at ≈27 EUR.

Only when this hurdle, including EMA50 and downward trend line, would be exceeded would there be room for larger price gains towards EUR 32.94. Before that, however, the sellers continue to be the price drivers.
