Heli and JP are looking for their fathers Half of me? in the TV series.
Over
With Heli and Juha-Pekalla or with JP is the same biological mother. Anna-Liisa gave birth to her daughter in Kajaani Central Hospital in 1970 and her son in the same place two years later. They talk about their backgrounds Half of me? in the series.
Both babies were taken from the hospital directly to a children’s home, from where they were adopted to different families when they were only a few months old. Neither father’s identity has been ascertained from the adoption documents – Heli and JP have different fathers. In the documentary series, we are now looking for the father of both Heli and JP with the help of genetic genealogy.

They help the couple Say Milan, Henna Meriläinen and Ira Vihreälehto. They study DNA matches, build family trees, study church records and tombstones, rummage through archives and go through old letters and photos until they get results.
More is known about Anna-Liisa’s mother’s background, although not very much. When he died in 2004, Heli found out about JP’s existence. JP already knew about Heli and also about their two older half-siblings, born in the 1960s From the sari and Quake. Anna-Liisa’s oldest children have the same father, Anna-Liisa’s husband at the time Martti.
Over
Heli and JP are both involved with Sari, but Jari has remained more distant. Heli has actually never met him. The first meeting takes place on the sets of the series. Jari and Sari were taken into care in time, because Anna-Liisa, who drank too much alcohol and regularly disappeared on her own roads, was unable to take care of them. Sari recalls that Martti’s father would have left for Helsinki when Anna-Liisa’s betrayal would have been revealed.
Heli and JP will be surprised many times during the trip. The man JP suspects to be his biological father is not related to him. Heli’s father, on the other hand, might be from the Turku region, because Anna-Liisa had moved there with her older children after her divorce.
Sanna Hautamäki, General
One surprise is that Anna-Liisa had been in prison at some point in her life. Anna-Liisa has kept it a secret from her loved ones. The matter is revealed to Heli and JP by their cousins, who share their own suspicions. They turn out to be true.
– We didn’t hear that, JP looks at Heli.
– No, he answers the man.
– He has been a particularly mysterious person, Heli sums up.
Over
Mysteriousness can also be found on JP’s father’s side of the family. He is trying to get a DNA sample from someone descended from the same branch to confirm his father’s ancestry. JP faces resistance and has to be disappointed several times.
– I don’t understand what that means. “Mother doesn’t want to bring up old things.” What old things? I don’t understand at all now, JP is in pain after one phone call, when a wall comes up against him.
He has to start digging further. It requires phone calls after phone calls, which is starting to get really frustrating. The whole series is already available to watch In the arena.
