The comedian and musician Helge Schneider (“Katzeklo”), famous for his offbeat humor, is going on tour in 2023 – as a torero.
Unlike the Spanish bullfighters, however, he does not want to take on angry cattle in an arena. At the sight of a bull, he would dilute, said Schneider on Thursday in Munich. He just liked the costume so much when he tried it on in a shop that he didn’t want to take it off.
The start of “The Last Torero – BIG LA Show” is on February 12, 2023 in Fulda. Other stops until spring 2024 include Cologne, Munich, Ulm, Frankfurt, Karlsruhe, Bonn, Bremen, Vienna and Zurich.
Helge will sing, dance, drum, trumpet, play the piano and saxophone and xylophone his way into the hearts of the audience at the show, the message said. His new album is to be released at the same time as the start of the tour.
Schneider became famous with songs like “Katzeklo” or “Es gibt Reis, Baby”, the lyrics of which are often absurd and always enigmatic. The 67-year-old is also considered a virtuoso musician who has mastered numerous instruments.
He has also appeared as an actor, for example in the leading role in Dani Levy’s satire “My Führer – The Really Truest Truth About Adolf Hitler”.
