It hit like a bomb: Hélène Hendriks was rudely insulted out of the blue at the beginning of last week. The TV star was completely razed to the ground in a podcast. Not only was she mocked for wearing silver earrings, she was also called ‘blonde bitch’ and even ‘h*er’. The culprit? Stephanie Hoogenberk.

What does Helen think?

Stéphanie was immediately tackled from all sides. Johan Derksen called her a ‘tr*t’ in the country’s most watched talk show and LINDA magazine. decided to fire her immediately. That dismissal also led to controversy, but editor-in-chief Karin Swerink has no regrets. “This does not suit our magazine.”

We’ve heard just about everyone by now, but what does Hélène think about it? Stéphanie now reveals that in the latest episode of The Shit Show, which has unmistakably grown from nothing to a full-fledged podcast full of shit and juice. “We chatted about it for a while.”

Texting with blonde del

The past two weeks have been turbulent for Stéphanie. She was quite shocked when her statements about Hélène made the news, especially the headlines that resulted. “It said: ‘Hélène, you’re a bitch!’ So I thought I’d text her like, ‘Maybe you’ve seen it. I don’t know if you listened to the podcast.’”

“I thought: just check. Well, Hélène responded pretty quickly with a very nice response. Very sportive. She even made an erm… well, I thought, a really good joke. I’ll leave it all in the middle for a while. I think that’s between us, but I thought: I think we’re okay and I even think we’re going to have a beer soon.”

‘She understands satire’

According to Stéphanie, Hélène has no problem with it at all. “She is someone who understands satire as well as someone who can take it. I think that is actually the best camp there is.”

According to Johan, Stéphanie’s statements were not satirical at all. “Yes, there were also a lot of people who said, ‘Satire? I can’t hear it!’ Well, for those people I just want to explain the definition of satire. Satire is also known as satire. That is an art form in which society is criticized in a humorous way.”

“It’s okay now”

Stéphanie used Hélène as a satirical target because she is often accused of dismissing misconduct. “Hélène Hendriks is a person, but at the same time it was criticized for downplaying transgressive behaviour. That’s nice, because I also chatted with Hélène about that. We now understand each other better, so no worries.”

She continues: “We talked about it for a while and this is okay now, but try to keep that definition in mind if you think: but I don’t hear the satire, because their tone is very serious!”

Dismissal from LINDA.

Finally, Stéphanie emphasizes that she was fired as a LINDA columnist not only because of her statements about Hélène. “No, it was also about other things and that was well explained to me by email. That they don’t like having a columnist who loses weight to other women.”

Ah, Linda de Mol had apparently missed that memo when she called Angela de Jong ‘sad’ and ‘intensely false’.
