The star status of Hélène Hendriks has undeniably increased due to the great success of her summer talk show De Oranjezomer. Moreover, she also won prizes at the Televizier gala this week. Reason enough to parodie her last night in the new TV show Hotel Hollandia by Paul de Leeuw.

‘What an honor!’

The bartender, played by Thomas van Luyn, receives the parody of Hélène. “The winner of the Televizier-Ring: Hélène Hendriks! What an honor.”

Anniek Pheifer, who plays his colleague, then grumbles: “Seriously. But seriously! The whole world is on fire and we’re going to talk about this?”

Thomas: “Congratulations Heleen!”

Heleen or Hélène?

Hélène immediately corrects Thomas: “But, and it must be said: thank you for the mustache! Hey, and by the way my name is Hélène, right? And not Heleen. Or is that humor?”

Thomas then pours champagne: “I wouldn’t know. In any case, you get this on the house!”

Hélène: “Oh, oh, but I think that’s a woman’s drink. Give me beer!”

Bucket of confetti

Thomas then points to the Friday broadcast of Today Inside. “Of course, you were already feted by Johan, Wilfred and René yesterday with a bucket of confetti, I saw.”

Hélène: “I actually thought that was a bit disappointing. At least I received a cuddly toy as a gift with my nomination.”

Women’s empowerment

Anniek then portrays Hélène as a woman who laughs too much with conservative old men. “Hey, Heleen. Or Helene. You’re giggling all the time with Derksen and Gijp, but you’ve set women’s emancipation back forty years, haven’t you?”

Hélène: “Jesus, that’s sour. Is there still a string hanging out or something? Yes, Johan would say! Johan would say! Yes, I find that humorous!”
