Hélène Hendriks is not yet working on leaving SBS 6: ‘Enough time’

Hélène Hendriks is not currently working on her inevitable departure from SBS 6. She points out that the channel still has a year and a half of football. “There is still plenty of time,” she says.

It is a major downer for both RTL 4 and SBS 6: the channels will lose all European football. The rights of tournaments such as the Europe and Champions League are moving to Ziggo Sport. For many sports presenters, including Hélène Hendriks, there will be little to present when all the sport is gone.

Not called yet

Rutger Castricum in HLF8 against Hélène: “You are talking about football, but are you already talking to Ziggo?”

Hélène: “No, I’m not talking about that yet. They only just know they have the rights! You think I’ll get a call the very next day? That’s not how it works!”

Rutger: “You haven’t been called yet?”

Hélène: “No, I still have a contract here for a few months! haha.”

‘Not really?’

Rutger: “Then you can already have been called?”

Hélène: “No, I haven’t been called.”

Rutger: “Really not?”

Helen: “No.”

Rutger: “And you didn’t call yourself already?”

Helen: “What do you think? That I’m going to call: ‘Hello!’”

‘What do you need at SBS?’

Rutger: “What else do you need at SBS? You live from sports.”

Hélène: “Yes, wait a minute. We still have the rights for a year and a half. I still have a year and a half left. Ample time. If I’ve been called, I’ll call you and then we can talk about it here at the table.”

Continue with HLF8

Hélène adds to VI that she will continue with HLF8 for the time being, but only one day a week. “I think it’s become quite fun lately, especially in that new format. I do know that sometimes I have to do better, like today. Then it was a bit messy.”

She continues: “I sometimes suffer from that and then I have to lead a little more, but I quite enjoy it. I really like to keep doing that Monday. Every Monday, until the end of the year.”
