Hélène Hendriks can hardly handle HLF8: ‘I’m BROKEN!’

Hélène Hendriks seems to be on the verge of a burnout. She starts her second broadcasting week of HLF8 tonight, but is already completely broken. “Yes, I mean that seriously.”

The lives of television stars are not easy. Hélène Hendriks has to present the talk show HLF8 three days a week this season and to sit at such a talk show table for an hour on those evenings is apparently really exhausting. “I did it for three days and I’m broke. Yes, I’m serious. That was quite tough.”

Exhausting

Hélène expressed this cry for help last Friday in Today Inside. “But you don’t have attractive guests either. They are not even B guests, but C guests”, Johan Derksen said.

It is almost impossible to sustain, according to Hélène. “You are constantly busy and you have to be very well versed in everything. You have to work really hard for it, because things don’t happen automatically in such a broadcast. If you have to pull really hard, it’s exhausting.”

dead boring

Hélène’s plea to change everything at HLF8 and make it different from other talk shows did not help. “Of course you always try to do something a little different and I’ve said that before at this table, but it turns out to be very difficult.”

She continues: “I don’t have the authority to change that completely, but I think it’s quite intense for three days at a full capacity. You (to Wilfred Genee, ed.) do five days and also three broadcasts in one day, but it is just quite difficult.”

HLF8

Hélène has another unappealing broadcast in store tonight. She’s going to talk about Formula 1, just like all other talk shows, Frank Dane is sitting at the table for a – yawn – conversation about his return on Radio 538 and there are angry bakers at the table.

For those who don’t want to miss it: the broadcast starts at 19.30 on SBS 6.
