It’s been a long time since a celebrity was sacked so hard in the public domain as Hélène Hendriks. Writer and columnist Stéphanie Hoogenberk really went wild with her in the spring. Not only was she mocked for wearing silver earrings, she was also called ‘blonde bitch’ and even ‘h*er’.

Stephanie fired

Stéphanie was immediately tackled from all sides. Johan Derksen called her a ‘t*t’ and magazine LINDA. decided to fire her immediately. That dismissal also led to controversy, but editor-in-chief Karin Swerink did not regret it. Hélène has always been silent, but she texted Stéphanie and turned out to be ‘okay’ with it.

Still, it remains a thing that Stéphanie simply lost her LINDA. column because of this, with the reason that she has been warned many times about ‘where she talks about other women in her podcasts’. It is almost inevitable that Linda de Mol has approved this dismissal herself. What does Stéphanie actually think about that?

“Yeah, funny…”

Stéphanie is asked about it in the summer issue of Villa media. “How did you feel about LINDA of all people. used that argument? The magazine that was already aware of misconduct at The Voice in 2020, but did nothing about it,” asks journalist Mark Koster.

The columnist then says: “Yes, funny.”

‘All has been said’

Mark insists: “And the editor-in-chief you fired, Rianne Meijer, turned out to be a panting type herself who forwarded breast photos to her husband. That was not very respectful to women.”

Stéphanie doesn’t let herself be provoked: “Yes. Everything has now been said about it.”

‘That will come later’

Why does Stéphanie always refuse to say anything about her resignation from the LINDA? “I’m going to say something about it sometime, but in my own way.”

Was she angry with Linda de Mol’s magazine? “I don’t think I was really angry. It is a pity that women’s magazines in the Netherlands do not have a journalistic character. We remain in the margin.”

Theatrical

Mark himself finds it ‘special’ that it all exploded like this. He speaks of a ‘theatrical overstatement’. “That’s right,” Stéphanie agrees.

She concludes: “I think it’s annoying when people don’t fully understand that and take everything very seriously. Yes, that is dangerous.”
