The anniversary mix celebrated its live debut at Thomas Gottschalk’s last “Wetten,dass..?” show.
On November 24th, Helene Fischer and Shirin David released a new version of the song to mark the tenth anniversary of Fischer’s hit “Atemlos durch die Nacht”. After less than a week, the video of their first live performance together is already at number one on the YouTube music trend charts. The two performed the hit-rap mix at Thomas Gottschalk’s last “Wetten,dass..?” show.
Ten years of “Breathless through the Night”
One of the most successful singles in German music history is now making history again. “Atemlos durch die Nacht” was first released on Helene Fischer’s album FARBENSPIEL in 2013 and was declared the unofficial World Cup anthem that same year. The entire record made it to the top of the German annual charts in 2013 and 2014. Fischer celebrated so many successes with “Atemlos durch die Nacht” that the track became one own website received, where all the highlights were summarized.
It remains to be seen whether the “Anniversary” version of her song together with the rapper can build on the success, but the first numbers are convincing. Two days after the live video of their “Wetten,dass..?” performance was uploaded to YouTube, the clip already has 1.6 million views – the situation is similar on Spotify too. The YouTube video has now landed at the top of the video trends.
