Once an investor’s assets under management in the US exceed $100 million, they must disclose their investments to the Securities and Exchange Commission every quarter. Bill Ackman from Pershing Square Capital Management, whose portfolio was worth $10,494,117,000 at the end of the third quarter, also submitted his holdings for the past quarter. His holdings can be viewed in the ranking – according to their value – in the third quarter of 2023. The status of the portfolio is September 30, 2023.

8th place: Alphabet A shares
As in the second quarter of this year, the A shares of Google parent Alphabet are still in eighth place in the ranking. Ackman purchased 2,169,824 securities worth $308.328 million, so that at the end of September the investor had a total of Alphabet A stocks worth $569.872 million in his portfolio. The US group therefore accounts for a share of around 5.43 percent in the depot.

7th place: Canadian Pacific Railway
Canadian Pacific Railway is now in seventh place in the third quarter, after being in sixth place in the previous quarter. In this investment, Ackman left his holdings the same – he still holds 15,095,528 shares worth around $1.12 billion (10.7 percent of the portfolio).

6th place: Alphabet C shares
Ackman also neither bought nor sold Alphabet C shares in Q3. The portfolio therefore still contains 9,377,195 C shares of the Internet company, which were worth around $1.24 billion as of September 30, 2023 and make up around 11.78 percent of the portfolio.

5th place: Howard Hughes
Ackman held 16,806,908 shares in the US real estate company Howard Hughes Holdings in the reporting quarter – 1.43 percent more than in the previous quarter. The titles had a value of 1.245 billion US dollars as of the reporting date and had a portfolio share of 11.87 percent.

4th place: Lowe’s Companies
In the third quarter of this year, Ackman reduced his stake in home improvement chain Lowe’s Companies by 5.39 percent, moving the company from third to fourth place. Pershing Square Capital Management still owned 7,066,623 Lowe’s titles as of the reporting date; the investment now accounts for around 14 percent of the portfolio with a value of $1.468 billion.

3rd place: Hilton Worldwide
Hilton Worldwide holds the third largest position in the Ackman portfolio. With 972,647 shares purchased, the investor legend recently held a total of 10,305,500 shares worth around $1.55 billion. The hotel chain therefore accounts for 14.75 percent of the total portfolio.

2nd place: Restaurant Brands International
As in the last quarter, Restaurant Brands International once again came in second with a total of 23,348,135 shares worth around $1.56 billion. In the third quarter, Ackman did not change this holding, which amounts to a portfolio share of 14.82 percent.
