Heavy wind gusts of up to 90 km per hour are expected on Sunday

The KNMI has declared code yellow for the entire province for the night of Sunday and Sunday morning. At sea and in the Wadden area there is a chance of heavy wind gusts of 75 to 90 kilometers per hour. That is extra careful this time: many trees are still about to fall over due to the heavy storm Poly last week.

The warning applies from 3 a.m. to 11 a.m. It is the umpteenth warning in recent weeks, according to NH weatherman Jan Visser, this is not surprising for the time of year: “This fits in with the Dutch climate, because there is often a warm wind that is punished by a cold front. there will be more extreme weather.”

Visser explains why the wind gusts are extra dangerous this time: “Due to storm Poly, heavy branches can still hang loose and with this wind they can get the last push to come down.”

The KNMI says that later in the morning the wind will decrease again.
