Heavy smoke in company fire in Ghent, police ask to keep windows and doors closed | Ghent

The fire broke out around 4 a.m. Saturday morning. This is reported by the local police. The cause of the fire is not yet known, but a lot of packaging material – wood and cardboard – is present in the company. The fire caused heavy smoke development. “Due to the wind, the plume of smoke drifts towards the R4,” says Bart De Cocker of the local police. “We would therefore urge the people from Sint-Amandsberg, Oostakker and Lochristi to keep windows and doors closed.”
