Several cars went up in flames in a multi-storey car park on the Blasewitzer Ring on Wednesday morning.
At 8.26 a.m. the emergency call was received by the Berlin fire brigade. Dark smoke was already rising in the Berlin sky. A short time later, the Nina warning app also triggered, warning of heavy smoke development in northern Berlin.
The fire brigade initially came with 50 emergency services, another 50 firefighters were added during the course of the morning. The firefighting continues. The situation is not yet clear.
Nothing can yet be said about the cause of the fire. The area should be bypassed extensively, due to the large-scale operation, there are extensive closures.
