Heavy rainfall floods recreation park, water up to the front door

The large amount of recent rain has flooded the Zandleij Estate in Cromvoirt. Dozens of houses in the holiday park have water up to the front door. The fire brigade is trying to pump out all the water.

The most nuisance occurs at the rear of the park, because that is the lowest point of the so-called estate. At the rear, the park borders on meadows where the river De Zandleij also runs.

The water was about a foot high there. Now that the fire brigade is pumping out the water, the water is visibly receding. But the question is what the impact of today’s rainfall will be. In the meantime, the fire brigade provides residents of the park with coffee.

People live on the estate temporarily but also permanently. The park has a total of about 140 homes.
