Heavy rain and fierce gusts of wind pass through West Flanders

The water level is high in several places in our province. The Aarsdamstraat in Handzame is also flooded. Due to the heavy rain, the Handzamevaart came out of its bed, fortunately no homes were affected.

Not only the rain causes nuisance, the wind was also strong this morning. In Wervikstraat, in Ypres, a tree blew over, blocking the entire road. Firefighters arrived on scene to clear the road.

In other places, too, people continue to watch out for possible flooding and wind.
