This morning, a major traffic jam occurred on the A9 towards Amstelveen due to an accident near the Rottepolderplein junction. Traffic was delayed for almost two hours as a result.
The traffic jam started between Beverwijk and the Rottepolderplein junction, which is now about ten kilometers long.
The ANWB reports that the left lane is closed due to an accident. The right lane has now also been closed. Salvage work has started and Rijkswaterstaat expects the road to be free again around 7:30 am.
There is now also a traffic jam of more than forty minutes on the A22 near Beverwijk.
