Heavy metals, getting busy vs worrying – Brand

Nowadays we are exposed to countless heavy metals, from deodorant, kitchen utensils, water, makeup, medications, to name a few.

It’s not for you to be alarmed, but for you to know. The power of all people is information, and that is why I want to write about the subject.

I want to clarify that not all people are the same and not all of us react the same to heavy metals. This means that just because we are exposed, there does not necessarily have to be contamination.

Heavy metals can enter the body in different ways. They can be breathed, eaten, or absorbed through the skin. Because heavy metals are found everywhere, it is normal to have some in the body. But if too many heavy metals enter your body, it can cause poisoning by heavy metals.

Heavy metal poisoning can cause organ damage, behavioral changes, and difficulties with thinking and memory. Symptoms of heavy metal poisoning will depend on the type of metal, how much is in your body, and your age.

The most commonly tested heavy metals are:

  • Lead
  • Mercury
  • Arsenic
  • Cadmium
  • Chrome

Other metals that can be analyzed include aluminum, beryllium, cobalt, copper, iron, manganese, nickel, platinum, selenium, silicon, silver and thallium.

There are several ways to detect the levels of heavy metals in the body: laboratory, nail or hair samples, there are even devices such as oligoscheck that allow obtaining the complete profile; because many of these metals are stored in the cell, damaging it and are not in the bloodstream, so their laboratory detection is insufficient.

Now, once detected, in addition to eliminating exposure, chelation is performed to eliminate said metal from the cell and the body. This chelation must be guided by a doctor and can be done in the form of serums and orally.
