Heat wave in five departments in France: up to 37 degrees in Provence | Abroad

Code orange applies in five departments in the south of France because temperatures will rise considerably in the coming days. In Provence and Roussillon, the mercury climbed to 37 degrees on Sunday. The peak of the heat wave is expected on Wednesday. That reports Meteo France.

Code orange applies in the departments of Ardèche, Drôme, Gard, Pyrénées-Orientales and Vaucluse. A new heat wave is expected there in the coming days. Code yellow applies to the ten other departments in the south of France.

In Provence and Roussillon, the mercury climbed to 37 degrees on Sunday. And the coming night the mercury drops to barely 23 to 25 degrees. Temperatures of 35 to 39 degrees are expected in the five departments for Monday.

Metéo France expects the peak of the heat wave for Wednesday. That applies to all of France. In the southwest, the mercury can then climb to 40 degrees.

From Tuesday, temperatures in our country will also rise again and a lot of sun is forecast. The maximums would reach 30 degrees and more in many places towards Wednesday.
