Heat: Swimming at the Bruges Coupure attracts

For the top day, in terms of the number of swimmers at the Coupure, we have to go to July 19. So last month, when it was tropical hot with 38 degrees. Then no fewer than 420 swimmers came to cool off. But even today the number is increasing. (Read more below the photo)

Locals from Bruges, tourists and children who are on sports camp, all come here to take a refreshing dip. “It’s the best place to swim in Bruges,” says Katiane Liekens of the sports department. The water is closely monitored and every effort is made to ensure that there are no blue-green algae. It gets crowded here, especially in the evening. You can swim up to eight hours.
