Heart problems for former Volendam player Noah Fadiga lead to forced departure

Noah Fadiga has had to receive some bad news about his health. The 23-year-old right back, who played for FC Volendam in the past, is suffering from heart problems. Due to the strict rules in France, he will have to continue his career elsewhere.

Fadiga played for FC Volendam in the 2019/20 season. At the time, he was rented from Club Brugge for one season. The Senegal international has now arrived at Brest via Heracles Almelo. There he can no longer continue his career.

After an irregular heartbeat, an examination took place. The cardiologist ruled that Fadiga could continue playing football without any increased risks. However, the French national football association has a ‘zero tolerance’ policy. As a result, Fadiga can continue to play football, but the rules in France do not allow it to play in Ligue 1.

“The doctor’s medical advice supports me in the belief that I can continue with my great passion, my football career,” Fadiga writes on his Instagram page. “Meanwhile I continue to train with my fitness team. I’m top fit and super motivated.”
