Heart of the Netherlands stars in danger? ‘These numbers are worrying’

The scores of Hart van Nederland have been disappointing lately and now the program itself almost falls out of the top 25 daily viewing figure. A worrying development, according to Tina Nijkamp.

Hart van Nederland was for years the viewing figure highlight of the evening for SBS 6, but that is different these days. The viewing figures of the program are currently even in heavy weather. With 485 thousand viewers (14 percent market share), the program was in 25th place in the daily top 25 viewership yesterday.

Caring for Heart

Tina Nijkamp, who has been the channel boss of SBS 6 for years, now finds it very worrying. “It is striking that Hart van Nederland almost falls out of the top 25. The program has only 485 thousand viewers, which has become big with regional news and what was previously the showpiece of SBS 6.”

Are things going well for the commercial target group, which broadcasters like to screen with? No, says ratings expert Tina. “In the target group, only 7.6 percent. These kinds of numbers are worrisome. Shownieuws also only scores 344 thousand viewers in their trendy studio and the top 25 has even flown out.”

Mart flops

The big viewership flop on Wednesday evening remains Mart op de Piste, the debut program of Mart Hoogkamer. No dog has been watching that for weeks and yesterday was no different: only 116 thousand people (2 percent) watched the broadcast on NPO 3. “It has definitely flopped and there will certainly not be a second season”, Tina knows.

In any case, it can’t be the lead-in of Mart, because First Dates did almost three times as well immediately before. 116 thousand people (2 percent) watched it.

Eyeballs wins

The season finale of the drama series Oogappels was the winner in prime time yesterday with 1.2 million viewers (22 percent) on NPO 1. Immediately after, Van Onschatbare Waarde held 958 thousand (19 percent).

The other prime-time winners were RTL 4’s Het Perfecte Plaatje (997 thousand and 19 percent) and SBS 6’s Today Inside (686 thousand and 14 percent), which remarkably enough falls just outside the top 15 viewership.
