Saïd Ouaali will leave Ajax this summer. The head of youth academy has informed Ajax that he does not want to extend his contract that runs until mid-2023.
The 53-year-old Ouaali started working in 2011 as a youth coach with the team from Amsterdam. He was appointed head of youth academy in 2016 and is the longest-serving head of youth academy in Ajax’s club history.
“Together with colleagues, I have worked for more than eleven years for our youth academy, which in my view is still the lifeblood of the club. In those years we have been able to guide many youth players in their individual path to Ajax 1, something I appreciate very much. I am proud of it. I have come to the conclusion that it is time to hand over the baton,” says Ouaali on the Ajax website.
Another departure
At the beginning of April, technical manager Gerry Hamstra left Ajax. Chief scout Henk Veldmate announced his departure this week. He will return to FC Groningen after this season.
This week it was announced that Sven Mislintat will be the new director of football affairs at Ajax. The German has signed a three-year contract.
