A 49-year-old man was seriously injured in a robbery in a park in Berlin-Neu-Hohenschönhausen on Saturday evening.
He was sitting on a bench with a 31-year-old friend near the skate park on Egon-Erwin-Kisch-Strasse, the police said on Sunday.
A group of around ten to twelve young people then suddenly attacked the two.
While the younger man was able to escape unharmed, the attackers punched and kicked the older man. He suffered head and facial injuries and multiple broken ribs.
The man’s mobile phone was then missing, as well as his wallet and a music box, which is said to have been stolen from his bicycle trailer. Paramedics took the 49-year-old to the hospital.
