‘He was actually always successful’

Martijn Krabbé cannot find his way after the funeral of The Voice. After that crazy program with balloons, he is now on the air with the Saturday show All Against 1. “A flop!”

Martijn Krabbé’s TV career is in dire straits, just now that he has dropped his ambitions to become a midlife DJ. Since the TV funeral of The Voice of Holland, he has been unable to achieve great success. He is now two episodes in with his new Saturday evening show All Against 1, but that is also not a success.

Martijn disappoints

Viewing agency Tina Nijkamp reveals that the second episode of the show, which Martijn presents with Carice van Houten’s sister, scored really poorly. “The big loser of Saturday is Martijn Krabbé. In fact, except for the second season of the balloon show, Martijn has always had a lot of ratings success,” she writes channel.

However, this format is too messy, according to Tina. “And so Martin cannot save this either. Only 520 thousand viewers for All Against 1. Oops. And that is even 109 thousand less than the already very moderate 629 thousand of last week. The score has also dropped in the commercial target group aged 25 to 54: only 16.0 percent market share.”

‘Format rattling’

This is also a huge disappointment for co-host Jelka van Houten, according to Tina. “It’s her first big live show. The format is shaky, because one candidate for the entire show is not enough, it doesn’t feel like you’re playing against the entire Netherlands, it’s just gambling instead of really knowing anything. And 17,500 euros to win is WAY too little.”

She compares it with the Kees Tol show Casino Royaal, which is also broadcast on Saturday evenings. “You can already win a ton there. And at The Jump 50,000 euros. Wouldn’t Martijn think so too?”

‘Really scary’

How do those programs actually score at half past nine? Not good, says Tina. “Casino Royaal with Kees Tol has 303 thousand viewers and 4.0 percent market share in 25-54 years on SBS 6. And The Jump with Marieke Elsinga on RTL 4 only 536 thousand and 13.4 percent market share in 25-54 years. Ouch.”

And Johnny de Mol directly opposite Martijn Krabbé? “For Johnny de Mol, the viewing figures on Sunday morning have also been shocking over the past three weeks. His Ranking the Talent does not reach more than 425 thousand viewers. The difference with All Against 1 is smaller than last week. But unfortunately it turned out to be a flop. The Netherlands is tired of talent.”

Sinterklaas wins

The big viewership winner yesterday was the arrival of Sinterklaas with 2.2 million viewers, followed by the Netherlands and Ireland with almost 2.2 million viewers. Hey, so there was football. Doesn’t that cause all those disappointing viewing figures?

Hardly, says Tina. “The match didn’t start until 8.45pm so there was no more competition than normal until then; for example All Against 1 and Ranking the Talent. Even tot Hier also scores comparable to the Dutch national team, so for The Jump and Casino Royaal the competition at 9.30 pm was comparable to last week.”
