Unique place
Louis’s apartment is for sale for the mega amount of 4 million euros. “It really is in a unique place, because it is the last apartment on that row on the Boulevard,” explains expert Bart Ettekoven.

What did Louis notice? “First of all: there was a life-size portrait of Truus and Louis in the bedroom and you almost never see that on Funda, because then they screen it off. Then they blur it, that’s what we call it. In his office you can also see his AZ trophies. I thought that was striking.”
And then comes the toilet’s turn. “In this huge house worth 4 million… What do you think? A pot. A toilet. That’s not much, isn’t it? You would think: a guest toilet. But there is no extra toilet in the bathroom, so they have one toilet in that huge apartment. Those are two striking things.”

What cannot be classified as small is the number of banknotes that Louis can remove from the wall. “Last year we re-examined Louis van Gaal’s fortune and we arrived at a fortune of 47 million. Last year you needed 120 million euros to get into the Quote 500.”
