“He got really angry!”

Gordon sent a camera crew from RTL Boulevard away with great irritation at the closure of his Blaricum coffee shop Blushing. “He got really angry”, Rob Goossens reveals.

The 54-year-old Gordon has had a rough week. He closed the Blaricum branch of his coffee shop Blushing yesterday, in his own words because there are no longer enough staff. Leading up to that difficult day, he took his Instagram page completely offline. What’s the matter?

Gordon storms at BLVD

RTL Boulevard tried to ask Gordon during the last opening day of Blushing, but he did not thank the program for that. “It went very strange. It all started very pleasantly, so when our people got there they were just said hello. That was all fine”, says Rob Goossens.

He continues: “Gordon himself was not in the business, but was upstairs in an office or something like that. And at one point he comes storming down and then asks our colleagues to leave. That’s kind of crazy, because they weren’t doing any weird stuff at all. So nothing happened before.”

‘He got very angry’

Rob thinks it’s all very strange. “From there it actually went from bad to worse. When our reporter asked, ‘Are you okay, because your Instagram page is also offline now?’ he got really angry and the big word came out. Gordon never wants to do interviews again, he’s done with the media.”

Strange, Rob thinks. “We thought: we came to say goodbye to his first coffee shop, but in the end it became a kind of funeral for Gordon in the media.”

Broken relationship

Presenter Eddy Zoëy: “Would there be more to it? This is not how we know Gordon. In fact, he liked to look up the media.”

Rob: “I have to say: the relationship has not been very great lately. Gordon regularly felt misunderstood and has recently also regularly said that he was portrayed very negatively. Now it may also play a role that in the end, except for Rik Felderhof, none of his well-known friends came by today.”

Crazy for attention

Gordon can’t quite place Rob’s behavior. “It may have turned into a cocktail of this, but that he is now closing the door to the media so firmly… You wouldn’t expect that from someone who has always enjoyed being in the spotlight.”

Gordon’s SBS 6 contract will expire in a year. And then? “If he actually no longer wants to be in the media and no longer wants to do interviews, then it seems very easy for the broadcasters. Then you don’t have to make a new offer to Gordon in a year’s time.”

Story boss Guido den Aantrekker in Shownieuws: “Gordon had flown fairly quickly before the last team had cleaned up everything. I’m always like, if you’re the captain of a ship, I’d think it’d be chic if you were the last to turn off the light. So that didn’t happen. He was already gone.”

‘Nobody misses him’

Columnist Jan Dijkgraaf has the idea that nobody really misses Gordon:
