A 43-year-old man died this Saturday when he fell while paragliding in Àger, in the province of Lleida. The victim participated in a flight from an adventure sports school with five more people when it fell into the Grillons ravine, an area of difficult access, the Generalitat Bombers have reported.
After receiving notice of the event to the 1:43 p.m., emergency teams have moved to the scene to try to rescue the man alive. A ground team has located it in an abrupt rocky area. The poor conditions to enter the rocky area has forced to mobilize a helicopter with members of the Special Action Groups (GRAE) of firefighters and the Emergency Medical Service (SEM).

Once the obstacles to approach the victim were overcome, the emergency teams found the man “unconscious and without vital signs,” the Fire Department explained in a statement. The SEM toilets they have immediately started cardiopulmonary resuscitation maneuvers, but they have not been able to save the life to the man.
Mossos d’Esquadra agents have gone to the scene of the events and investigate the cause of the accident. Once the police tasks have been completed, the firefighters have evacuated the body.
