‘He comes across as very unstable’

RTL Boulevard star Aran Bade is very shocked by Gordon’s current condition. What is going on? “He just makes a very unstable impression. It shoots in all directions.”

It is very clear that Gordon is not doing well mentally. One week the entertainer says goodbye to the media because he cannot handle the criticism, the next week he is back and ‘stronger than ever’. What responsibility do media have if it is so obvious that someone cannot deal with media exposure?

Unsettled impression

Wilfred Genee is now praised for not opting for easy viewing figures, but for protecting the person Gordon from himself: he locks the door of Today Inside for him.

RTL Boulevard star Aran Bade says in his show section: “He just makes a very unstable impression. It shoots in all directions again. Gordon’s ability to cope is really zero and now he says in one sentence: ‘I never want to speak to those men from VI again, what a down to earth terrible type of people, what a terrible program’, and not even a sentence later…”

‘It’s really not going well’

Less than a sentence later, Gordon invites himself to VI. “This is simply the Gordon we know and with whom things are just not going well. This is really, I now think, becoming a problem for Gordon. He is impossible to work with. Those people who are now sitting at home and would like to participate in that theater tour…”

Aran is referring to the theater tour that Gordon canceled on a whim. “All those violinists and those string players will now also think: fuck off. You can’t rely on it anymore. We have dealt with this issue before, but it is so bad… I mean: it is also the victim role again.”

René as a patient

It is not surprising that Gordon, after his umpteenth return to the media, immediately starts lashing out at celebrities, such as René van der Gijp this time, Aran thinks. “The media did it and René is a patient,” he says. I think that is significant. I should have said that to VI itself last week. Had that one gouge had to sit there.”

Gordon is a bit done, according to Aran. “We have spoken to people in recent weeks who have worked with Gordon in the television world and you cannot rely on him.”

Need help

Bridget Maasland thinks Goor needs help. “John, you also deal well with Gordon. Is there no one around him who can slow him down or help him with this every now and then? It also feels like he doesn’t know what to do.”

John van den Heuvel then: “I had contact with him quite a few times last week. It is true what Aran says that he has had a big blow and is perhaps a little shaky or a bit shaky. I don’t agree when you say that it is impossible to work with, because he always keeps all his agreements, including his business agreements.”

Capacity to collect

Bridget is critical. “But of course he has difficulty with his ability to take things.”

John: “If you are unstable and you are not feeling well, you will of course react differently than when you are completely at your best.”

Bridget: “These are things that he used to throw at other people’s feet and around their ears.”

John: “That’s that resilience.”
