HDS/L Symposium on May 19 in Herzogenaurach

The industry meets again. After a two-year break, the traditional HDS/L General Assembly will be accompanied by a symposium this year as usual. On May 19, the industry will meet in Herzogenaurach, Franconia, at HDS/L member company adidas. The motto of the event is “Resilience & Resources” and comes up with contributions that are as pragmatic as they are inspiring and move the industry.

The programme: Carl-August Seibel, Chairman of the Federal Association of the Shoe and Leather Goods Industry, looks at the current industry situation and is followed by an exciting expert talk on the explosive topic of recruiting and securing skilled workers. Klaus Freese, Managing Director of DESMA Schuhmaschinen GmbH and Thomas Bielmeier, Magazino GmbH, will use the example of Lloyd Shoes and Gudrun Messias, Director Sustainability Direction at adidas, to provide information on how to strengthen the resilience of a company from the aspects of automation and sustainability. Another item on the program is dedicated to the topic “New markets – new opportunities”. Carl-August Seibel reports on personal experiences in setting up a shoe factory with a training center in Kenya, while Silvia Jungbauer, managing director of the German knitting industry association – Gesamtmasche eV in Stuttgart, will present international projects in Ethiopia, Senegal and Uzbekistan. The topic of fashion is also not neglected: Marko Knauer, Director Strategic Direction at adidas, explains the influence of sport on fashion and trends. After his presentation, it may be possible to visit the adidas headquarters.
