With 5-4, HCAW somewhat surprisingly won a visit to Neptunus. The baseball team from Bussum has had an excellent start to the Holland Series. The season finale is a best-of-seven series.
HCAW made the difference in the fourth inning, thanks in part to a great playing Lars Huijer on the mound. The Bussum-squad scored three runs in this inning to take a 5-2 lead. The Rotterdam-squad did come back a bit, but HCAW held out.
The last time HCAW was in the Holland Series was in 2005. The second game will be played in Bussum on Saturday. The winner of the best-of-seven series can call himself national champion.
