Handball Bundesliga team SC DHfK Leipzig has once again missed the hoped-for break in the relegation battle.
Due to their sixth defeat in a row with 29:30 (15:15) at former record champions VfL Gummersbach, the Saxons are still only two points ahead of the relegation zone. Gummersbach, on the other hand, stayed in the upper third of the table thanks to its second win in a row, which Julian Köster made perfect seven seconds before the final siren.
Leipzig showed morale despite the new setback. In the last minute of the game, after a five-goal deficit, the guests at least came close to winning a point by equalizing.
Gummersbach’s most successful thrower was Arnor Oskarsson with six hits. His Icelandic compatriot Viggo Kristjansson and the Czech Matej Klima stood out in Leipzig’s team with five goals each.
