Finally, at the age of 39, Rita took a positive pregnancy test.

– That time was long and I had many times thought that I was not meant to be a mother.

Before becoming pregnant, she sought out her husband Aki Manninen with studies that found everything to be fine. It raised a lot of questions about where to finally peek.

The infertility clinic was planned to start IVF treatment, or in vitro fertilization. She had received a prescription and instructions for her injectable hormone medication and was waiting for her next period.

A miracle happened

Before the menstruation, however, something happened.

– Then it happened .. after all the years: I had gotten pregnant and completely naturally. On the birthday of my late father on October 15, 201, I plussed.

Rita writes about how she has still not forgotten the feeling that followed a positive pregnancy test.

– I shouted to Aki that I was pregnant. The answer was: Nonni, that’s how it was supposed to go, he recalls.

According to his own words, Mannis was lucky to travel and now a small family lives happily in Lempäälä.

– My sympathies and empathies are really unintentionally on the side of the childless. It hurts when asked, and it hurts when you wait and hope, Rita writes.
